Firebound App Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Firebound app by MariBond handles your data. For our online store, see our Privacy Policy.

Data that stays on your device

Your pieces, glaze tests, kiln firings, photos and Glaze Assistant conversations are stored on your device. Firebound doesn't upload them unless you use one of the features below.

Glaze Assistant

If you allow it, the Glaze Assistant sends the following to Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI model that writes the answer:

• Your question.
• Any photo you attach.
• Up to 12 of your related glaze tests: combo name, clay, cone, rating and the first 200 characters of your notes.

• Requests pass through Firebound's server, hosted by Cloudflare, which doesn't store your questions, photos or glaze tests.
• To limit abuse, the server keeps a daily count of messages per device for up to 2 days.
• Anthropic processes this content under its commercial terms.
• You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings > Glaze assistant. Your conversation history stays only on your device.

Community gallery

Sharing to the Community gallery is optional and you choose it for each glaze test.

• When you share, we publish the photo, combo name, clay, cone and rating, and your display name only if you choose to show it. Your notes are never shared.
• Shared posts are public to all Firebound users and are stored on Cloudflare until you remove them.
• Removing a post, or deleting the glaze test in the app, deletes the post and its photo.
• Before publishing, each post is checked automatically by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to keep the gallery free of objectionable content.
• If people report a post, we keep the report reason and the post for review.

Device verification

To make sure requests come from a genuine copy of Firebound, the app uses Apple's App Attest. Our server stores a security key identifier and public key for your device. Posts are linked only to a scrambled code derived from this key, never to your name, Apple ID or contact details.

Ads and analytics

• Firebound shows ads from Google AdMob. With your permission (Apple's tracking prompt and, where required, Google's consent form), ads may be personalised. Where required, you can change your choice in Settings > Manage Ad Consent.
• Firebound uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand which features are used. It doesn't include your photos, notes or Glaze Assistant messages.

Your choices

• Remove your shared posts at any time in the app.
• Withdraw permission for the Glaze Assistant in Settings > Glaze assistant.
